The Current Situation of Idukki Tourism at This over Rainfall

  Tourism in the district of Idukki has been affected due to heavy rains and flash floods in the area. The recent rain and over flooding in the Munnar, Peermade, and Adimaly areas are posing a threat to tourism in Idukki . At present, most tourist attractions in Idukki are currently closed to visitors until further notice, including the Neelakurinji gardens in Munnar, Idukki, which tourists have planned to visit. The Neelakurinji is a flower that blooms every 12 years in the Western Ghats. Tourists come to Munnar in droves to see this uncommon flower.  As in the 24 hours between October 16 and 17, the Idukki reservoir, Kerala's highest hydroelectric dam, received over 4.25 feet of water.
